Is the failure of KKR show in the IPL 2009, is attributed to the Coach or Captain or Management?
The answer is it is TEAM failure; they have failed to show their talents in all the departments, batting bowling & fielding. The controversy seems to be started much before the start of the IPL,
1) SRK’s decision to drop the Gangluy from the captaincy
2) John Buchanan’s Multiple captain theory and then they have sticked their captaincy to Macullum
3) SRK’s exit from South Africa, after they loose 3 consecutive matches
4) SRK’s Tiff with Ganguly in the hotel.
5) Latest: SRK planning to Sell KKR
I guess in this season they have learned a lot, what one should not with team. My suggestion would be,
1) Start planning from the moment this year IPL gets over , about how they have to approach each match next year
2) They should have team bonding exercise within all, whenever there is a break for all players, including international players
3) Every member should be made understand about his role in the team.
4) They should have backup players for all the slots.
5) Change the Jersey color, come with a new color so that every player feels fresh and look different. ( example take the case of Deccan Chargers)
6) The management and team should not interfere once the tournament commences, it is the responsibility of the coach to give comments about the player’s performance and the overall team’s performance.
7) Drop/Transfer the players who are not performing and the get the in-form players, may be they can refer the strategy of Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.
8) Try conducting various tournaments in and around the state to get formidable players, who can perform well at this level.
I have read the ET article which says KKR is valued higher than any other IPL team, I guess this is the only positive news for KKR.
I hope KKR do wonders in the coming matches and in the further seasons.
